Today on the Bite Tonight: The Broadcast Booth

Saturday, I met Jordan for lunch @ the Broadcast Booth in Allen Park. Located on Allen Rd,  this local sports bar offers billiards, flat screens, and an extensive food and drink menu. See how they ranked.

We started with an appetizer: Mozzarella Sticks. I was very surprised at the size of the mozzarella sticks. I expected frozen, skinny, traditional cheese sticks you find at your average coney island. These were triple the size and tasted fresh (if they were frozen, they fooled me). The marinara sauce was a bit bland so I dipped in ranch dressing instead. All for under $6.

I went with the Ranchero Wrap: Char-grilled chicken, guacamole, pepper jack cheese, cilantro, tomatoes, and chipotle mayo. The chicken was juicy and the pita was thick which prevented it from getting soggy. I was a little disappointed because the chicken lacked flavor and the guacamole was a little brown which hinted that it wasn’t fresh. The chipotle mayo had good a nice spicy flavor without being too smoky. The fries, however, were cooked perfectly, not over cooked, but not soggy.

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo: Fettuccine pasta tossed in a rich, savory Parmesan cream sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious! The shrimp were a pretty generous size as well. Not too shabby for a sports bar.

The Broadcast Booth is a good local sports bar serving up decent food. There were only a few tables when we went in the afternoon and service was slow. Prices are pretty average and the menu has something for every pallet. I like sitting on the patio in the summer because it’s right on Allen Rd in front of all summer fun.
